Shivadham Temple of India
Shivadham Temple of India is a large Hindu temple complex under development in Brij Vihar Colony, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, it is envisioned as a major center of worship and cultural activity modeled after grand temple architecture such as Akshardham. The site attracts pilgrims, visitors, and local devotees for its religious and community events.
Built in the Nagara style of northern Indian temple architecture, Shivadham features a curvilinear shikhara rising above the central sanctum. The temple complex is planned to span about eight acres and will include shrines for the Shiva Panchayatan deities—Shiva, Vishnu, Shakti, Ganesha, and Surya—along with Navagraha and Hanuman temples. Once complete, its main tower will reach approximately 149 feet, and a bridge over the nearby Paondhoi River will connect it to the surrounding landscape.
Managed by the Shivadham Committee, the temple hosts events such as Ram Katha, Bhagwat Katha, and community feasts (bhandara). Even while construction continues, parts of the complex, including a Pravachan Hall and the “Om Namah Shivaya” courtyard, remain open for worship and gatherings. The temple aims to serve as a long-term spiritual and cultural hub for Saharanpur.
